Students from West Hatch High School were among those performing at the 11th annual Rotary Youth Makes Music evening held on Friday at Chigwell School.
The evening opened with a 25-minute set of vocal favourites performed by the Modality Youth Choir, directed by West Hatch's singing teacher Jenny Ewington and accompanied by the group's pianist Matt Lowrie.
Modality is made up mainly of Jenny's students from West Hatch, but also includes girls from other schools.
West Hatch headteacher Frances Howarth and music teacher Mauro Sheehan were among the most appreciative audience who were particularly impressed by the group's efforts at emulating the sound of instruments during one of the numbers.
The second half of the evening included three soloists from West Hatch - Niamh Moore, Ella Sabine and Hannah Brandon who each performed with Jenny at the piano.
Mr Sheehan said: "The girls' customary professionalism shone through and again the audience were most appreciative of their efforts.
"The school is particularly proud of Hannah who has recently been unconditionally accepted into the Urdang Performing Arts Academy."
