Headteacher Daniel Leonard said the students performed exceptionally well and given themselves a sound platform for a successful future.

The vast majority of students gained access to their first choice universities with a number securing higher level apprenticeships or employment.

A number of subject areas performed particularly well this year, for example Government and Politics, Business Studies and Art all achieving 100 per cent A*-B grades with Economics achieving 91 per cent.

History achieved 86 per cent, PE 83 per cent and RS 78 per cent among other excellent departmental results.

All students studying Extended Diploma in Business, Applied Science, Cambridge
Technical Certificate in IT and Sports and Exercise Science achieved A*-C grade equivalents.

Mr Leonard said: "All of our students’ hard work and high aspirations have paid off and their determination to succeed has embodied the school’s motto to be ‘The Best that I Can Be'." 

University destinations include Law and Aerospace Engineering at Manchester University; Medicine, Mathematics and Environmental Science at Southampton; Law, Business Management and Marketing at Queen Mary; Film Production at York; and Fashion Journalism at the University of Art . 

A large number of students are also taking up Degree Apprenticeships at companies such as Deloittes, AIG and WTW Insurance.

Mr Leonard said: “These are the first real examinations our students have sat having been hit with Covid lockdowns when they were in Year 11, and I know how nervous they all were. 

"I also know how hard they all worked and these results are a testament to a fantastic group of students who overcame all the obstacles in front of them; we are all exceptionally proud of what they have achieved. 

"Results like these do not just happen, and I would like to thank the school’s staff on behalf of the students for all their dedication and support for the students over the last two years. 

"I’d like to wish all our students the very best of luck for the next stage in their lives in whichever path they choose to take, whether it be university, apprenticeships or straight into the world of work.”
